On April 30, 2019, Governor Wolf formally committed Pennsylvania to join the US Climate Alliance, along with releasing the Department of Environmental Protection’s Climate Action Plan.
The Climate Action Plan builds on Wolf’s commitment to reduce the state’s greenhouse gas emissions by 26% by 2025 and 80% by 2050, from 2005 levels. The plan includes some key steps that, if implemented, will help to ensure Pennsylvania acts to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and continues down the path of meeting Pennsylvania’s share of the goals laid out in the Paris Climate Accord.
As the third largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the country, this momentum is critical for Pennsylvania. Now is the time to thank Governor Wolf for his leadership — and encourage him to follow through with strong methane rules and a declining limit on carbon pollution from the power sector.
I support your climate action.
